Care instructions for iron pans
Do not heat pans when they are empty, always heat the pan with oil or grease and then add the food to be fried.
Before using iron pans for the first time, fry them as follows: cover the bottom of the pan sufficiently with hot oil, e.g., peanut oil; add raw potato slices and peels and a teaspoon of salt; now fry the contents of the pan well, turning several times, until the bottom of the pan begins to darken and the fried food is dark brown; drain the pan and rub it well. Your pan is now ready to use. Keep your iron pans dry and lightly greased to prevent rusting.
If rust has developed on your iron pans, you can easily remove it with 20% lemon essence or 25% vinegar essence and a household sponge. Note that burn-in must be repeated after this process.
Handles of iron pans can get hot while cooking, so always use oven mitts or heat gloves.
Be creative!
The gate pan made of cast iron has 7 recesses (approx. 3cm) that allow you to grill, cook and bake wonderfully creatively.
A nicely shaped fried egg in cross bacon for breakfast? Sizzling shrimp in butter sauce? fryer? Muffins? … Your mouth is watering.
The greeting pan has a diameter of 20.5 cm. The 7 notches are about 5.5 cm in diameter and about 3 cm deep.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Thanks to the pretreated surface of the cast iron, you can start cooking right away. Seasoning is not necessary for initial preparation.
Use only warm water to clean the pan. Under no circumstances should the cast product be cleaned with detergent or other chemical cleaners, as this would destroy the patina that protects the pot from corrosion.
After thorough cleaning, we recommend repeating the burn-in process. There are 2 proven methods for this:
Using a maintenance paste, rub the glaze with this and heat your pan/pot/pan well. The care paste runs and penetrates deeply into the cast iron and then protects it perfectly.
The cowboy method is that you slice some old potatoes and fry them with lots of canola oil or sunflower oil. The potatoes can also be really black. Then clean everything on the compost and your stove with the ring cleaner. Rub dry and you have a wonderful patina that tastes good and protects your cast iron
